Viktoriia Oreshko is a painter whose work examines cultural memory,
personal history and the emotional weight of contemporary conflict. She
trained in monumental painting at the Lviv National Academy of Arts and
later continued her studies in Bordeaux, Montreal and Paris. In 2025 she
graduated with honours from Beaux Arts de Paris, the same year she won the
Sisley x Beaux‑ Arts Prize for Emerging Artists.
Oreshko’s paintings combine figurative clarity with an atmosphere of quiet
intensity. Critics describe her work as a realm of liberation where imagery
shaped by war transforms into something delicate, reflective and intimate .
Her practice often revolves around memory and the body, weaving together
autobiographical fragments, family histories and broader social narratives.
Viktoriia Oreshko's art depicts her interest in the passage of time and the
ways in which private experience becomes entangled with collective events.
Her exhibitions include presentations at Galerie C in Paris, Musée des
Cordeliers, Palais de Tokyo, Galleria Continua and 68projects by
KORNFELD. Before moving to France she participated in projects such as
the Vezha Festival in Lviv and exhibitions in Bordeaux focused on
postcolonial and archival themes. Alongside her painting practice she has
worked as an interpreter in film and media, an experience that deepens her
engagement with visual perception and the translation of images across
contexts.
Oreshko’s work is shaped by displacement and the search for continuity
across fractured histories. Her paintings offer a sensitive and patient
reflection on memory, resilience and the fragile beauty that persists even in
times of uncertainty.
