Etsu Egami presents her first public art installation in Japan at Otemachi One in Tokyo. “Otemachi One: The Fate of Faces as Told by Parallel Lines” will be on view from September 28 to December 25, 2026.
The site-specific installation explores communication, perception, and the misunderstandings that emerge across languages and cultures. Known for her vivid colors and expressive lines, Egami extends her portrait-based practice into three-dimensional space, connecting the interior and exterior areas of Otemachi One.
The installation includes works across the Imperial Green, the building’s lobby, lobby windows, and office entrance. Featured works include “Intersecting Lights: Faces, Faces, Faces…,” “Rainbow Dance,” “Rainbow,” and “Imagine.”
Egami’s international recognition includes a Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 selection, the 2025 Art Karlsruhe Prize, and presentations at the Miss Dior Exhibition and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.
Through this new public art project, Etsu Egami brings her exploration of human connection into the everyday life of Tokyo.
