Tereza de Arruda

Tereza de Arruda is an independent curator and art historian who lives and works in Berlin. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, she studied art history in Berlin, where she has been based since 1989. Her extensive international experience is demonstrated by her long-standing role as co-curator of the Havana Biennial since 1997 and the Curitiba International Biennial since 2009. Her curated solo exhibitions include major presentations of internationally renowned artists such as Sigmar Polke (MASP-SP and me collectors Room/Berlin), Chiharu Shiota (CCBB/São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia), Ilya and Emilia Kabakov (Kunsthalle Rostock), Katharina Sieverding (Fototeca de Cuba), and Wang Qingsong (Køs Museum for Art in Public Spaces/Copenhagen).
