Charles Moore

Charles Moore is a New York–based art critic, curator, and author whose work centers on Black cultural expression, color theory, and contemporary abstraction. Known for his deeply researched yet accessible approach, Moore brings artists’ processes, perspectives, and lived contexts into sharp focus, bridging scholarly inquiry with the urgency of present-day discourse.

His writing spans books, catalog essays, exhibition texts, reviews, and long-form interviews, driven by a commitment to demystifying art for both seasoned collectors and newcomers. Moore’s widely read work on art collecting emerged from a desire to open the field beyond its traditional, exclusive frameworks.

As a curator, Moore has organized exhibitions across the United States, Mexico, Colombia, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Romania, and Germany. His ongoing conversations with artists offer rare insight into the ideas shaping contemporary art today.
