Art Cologne 2025: Cologne, Germany
Light, space, and time form the core of our presentation as experiential dimensions. Between holographic light structures, digital reflections, constructive spatial bodies, and painterly emotionality, a dialogue unfolds about perception and movement.
From Dieter Jung’s holographic experiments and Johanna Reich’s digital reflections to Jay Gard’s precise constructions and Martin Spengler’s relief-like architectures, all the way to the sensitive painterly worlds of Rao Fu, Etsu Egami, and Shanee Roe, a multifaceted interplay of form, time, and body emerges. For New Positions, Simin Jalilian presents new works that explore questions of identity, origin, and corporeality as vessels of memory and transformation. Her painting moves between vulnerability and self-assertion, reflecting the fragile balance between personal experience and political reality. Jalilian draws on images that seem familiar from the media and translates them into an independent painterly language. The resulting works interweave collective memory and contemporary perception — powerful, poignant, and of great visual presence.
