Valentina Murabito – Call of the Sirens - Visions of a Sailor

With Call of the Sirens – Visions of a Sailor, Valentina Murabito transforms KORNFELD Galerie into a poetic environment of light, material and photography. The exhibition presents new bodies of work in which photographic processes are fused with unconventional materials, resulting in singular image-objects whose appearance shifts according to light, space and the viewer’s perspective.

For more than twenty years, Murabito has explored the material and spatial possibilities of photography. Through her own innovative processes, she liberates the photographic image from its two-dimensional surface, giving it a tangible physical presence. Her works offer a deliberate counterpoint to the ephemerality of digital imagery, drawing attention instead to the unique object, artisanal craftsmanship and the sensory experience of seeing.
