  • The KORNFELD Residency Program

Each year, we invite two to four artists from around the world to Berlin for up to three months. Our residency is fully funded by KORNFELD Galerie and takes place at our project space 68projects. It is by private invitation only and developed in close dialogue with our partners, curators, and institutions.

The residency is designed to foster exchange and build bridges across cultures and continents. For us, it is not only about producing work but about learning, growing, and connecting. Residents are provided with an apartment and a studio in Berlin, and the time here is intended to open up opportunities: encounters with other artists, institutions, collectors, and the rich cultural life of Berlin. Depending on the outcome and the dialogue that develops, the residency may lead to a group exhibition or a solo presentation, often at a later stage.

  • Creative Journeys in Berlin

What makes our residency distinctive is its emphasis on long-term relationships and artistic growth. While many residents do produce work during their stay, the program is not primarily defined by immediate output. Instead, we place greater value on reflection, exchange, and the experiences that unfold during the residency. Over the past 12 years, we have seen how the works created after the residency often carry a special depth — shaped by the encounters, ideas, and cultural impressions gathered in Berlin. This is why we usually present the results at a later stage, when the artistic process has fully matured and can unfold its strongest impact.

Please note: as our program is by private invitation only, we cannot accept unsolicited applications. We also kindly ask for your understanding that, due to our very limited capacities as a small team, we are unable to process or return unsolicited catalogues, digital links, or proposals. We are truly grateful for the interest in our work and thank you for your understanding.
